Labour wants everyone to enjoy living in strong, safe and sustainable communities - places which offer access to work, decent and affordable housing, good local services, a safe and healthy environment and a secure and comfortable quality of life.
Scottish Labour is committed to renewing neighbourhoods, engaging communities and improving the quality of life for everyone regardless of where they live will be our goal.
We know that people living in our poorest communities are often focused to stay in poorer quality environments. Pollution, environmental degradation, odour, graffiti, litter, the effects of landfill and opencast mining - all these things have the greatest impact on the people with the least opportunities.
Scottish Labour is committed to tackling anti-social behaviour, noise nuisance and other environmental crimes.
Sarah has campaigned with local residents and community groups to tackle anti-social behaviour. Labour's legislation passed in the Scottish Parliament means that Local Councils now have stronger powers to tackle anti-social behaviour.
In Edinburgh there's now an anti-social behaviour investigation team and a helpline to make sure local residents get the help they need so that anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.
