Since 1999 Labour in the Scottish Parliament has made environmental justice one of our top priorities:
- We’ve significantly increased our recycling rates from 6% to 25%
- Promoted dramatic expansion of renewable energy,
- Supported a massive increase in public transport, with new buses, longer and more frequent trains, new stations, and ambitious plans for more.
Our manifesto contains radical policies to go further with more energy-efficient housing, an expansion of micro-generation and decentralised energy networks, more towards locally-sourced food and a Climate Change Bill to reduce our carbon emissions, while continuing Scotland’s economic success.
